Started training in karnatic classical vocal and instrument veena at the age of 7, under the guidance of PushpaRamMohanRao,one of the well-known music artists of Andhra Pradesh and also the descendants of Dr. Emani Shankar Sastry, a famous Veena Artist of India. Given numerous Performances and bagged many prizes in veena and vocal competitions in the District as well as in the State level from the age of 10 under the sponsorship of many organizations like Navya Nataka Samithi(Hyderabad),Ravindra Bharati Cultural Academy (Hyderabad),Madras Telugu Academy(Chennai),Sangeeta Kala Samithi (Vizag) and also in many places like Bhimavaram,Guntur,etc . Is the CCRT Scholarship recipient (Center for Cultural Resources and Training), Delhi conducted by Government of India for 7 years. Is the AIR (y/v) (All India Radio)Artist ,Visakhapatnam,AP,India. Was given the best “Veena Vainika “ award for Veena by Music Association of Visakhapatnam in 1996. Was honoured as the best youth Music Artist by Rotaract Club in 2001 . Performed as a Vocalist in a fusion for introducing music in schools. Married Vijay Mocherla and moved to Charleston,W.V in 2003. Teaching vocal and veena in Charleston and also an active promoter of Indian culture . Performed in Schools ,Universities,Religious Institutions and International Cultural Meets to propagate Indian culture.
