The life of a person is as uncertain as rain drops trembling on a lotus leaf . So long as a man is fit and able to support his family, see what affection all those around him show . When one is alive, his family members enquire kindly about his welfare . The childhood is lost by attachment to playfulness . Youth is lost by attachment to woman . Old age passes away by thinking over many things . Who is your wife ? Who is your son ? Strange is this samsaara, the world. Of whom are you ? From where have you come ? Brother, ponder over these truths. satsaN^gatve nissN^gatvaM nissaN^gatve nirmohatvam.h . nirmohatve nishchalatattvaM nishchalatattve jiivanmuktiH .. 9.. From satsanga, company of good people, comes non-attachment, from non-attachment comes freedom from delusion, which leads to self- settledness . From self-settledness comes Jiivan muktii. vayasigate kaH kaamavikaaraH shushhke niire kaH kaasaaraH . kshiiNevitte kaH parivaaraH GYaate tattve kaH saMsaaraH .. 10.. What good is lust when youth has fled ? What use is a lake which has no water ? Where are the relatives when wealth is gone ? Where is samsaara, the world, when the Truth is known ? maa kuru dhana jana yauvana garvaM harati nimeshhaatkaalaH sarvam.h . maayaamayamidamakhilaM hitvaa brahmapadaM tvaM pravisha viditvaa .. 11.. Do not boast of wealth, friends, and youth . Each one of these are destroyed within a minute by time . Free yourself from the illusion of the world of Maya and attain the timeless Truth. dinayaaminyau saayaM praataH shishiravasantau punaraayaataH . kaalaH kriiDati gachchhatyaayuH tadapi na muJNchatyaashaavaayuH .. 12.. Daylight and darkness, dusk and dawn, winter and springtime come and go . Time plays and life ebbs away . GYaanavihinaH sarvamatena muktiM na bhajati janmashatena .. 17.. One may go to Gangasagar, observe fasts, and give away riches in charity ! Yet, devoid of jnana, nothing can give mukthi even at the end of a hundred births. Take your residence in a temple or below a tree, wear the deerskin for the dress, and sleep with mother earth as your bed . Give up all attachments and renounce all comforts . Dharanee garbha Sambhootham - Vidhyuth kaanthi Samaprabham Kumaaram Sakthi Hasthancha - Mangalam Pranamaam Yaham. The one who is the son of Bhooma Devi, One who has the lustre of lightning,One who has Shakthi in his hand, and the auspoicious one, I prostrate that Angaraka. 4. Piryangu kali Kaasyaamam - Roope'naa Prathimam Budham Sowmyam sowmya Gunopetham - Tham Bhudham Pranamaam Yaham. The one who is dark like the bud of Priyangu flower, One who is unequalled in beauty and is intelligent, And the son of Chandra, One who is peaceful, I prostrate that Budha. 5. Dhe'vaanaancha Risheenaancha - Gurum Kaanchan sannibham Bhudhdhi bhootham Thrilokesam - Thannamaami Bhruhaspathim. The one who is the Guru of the Devas and Rishis, the one who is radiant and intelligent, The Lord of all the three worlds, I prostrate that Brihaspathi. 6. Hima kundha M'runaalaabam - Dhaithyaanam Paramam Gurum Sarva saasthra Pravruththaaram - Bhaargavam Pranamaam Yaham. The one who has the lustre of the dew, Lotus stem and Thumba flower, High priest of Asurasand the one who preaches the Shatras, I prostrate that ( Bhargava ) Sukracharya. 7. Neelaanchana Samaabaasam - Raviputhram Yamaagrajam Chaayaa Maarthaanda Sambhootham - Thannamaami Sanaicharam. The one who is blue, one who is like charcoal, one who is the son of Surya and the brother of Yama, one who is born to Chaya and Surya, I prostrate that Saneeswara. 8. Ardha kaayam mahaaveeyram - Chandhraadhithya vimardhanam Simhikaagarba Sambhootham - Tham Raahum Pranamaam Yaham. The one who has half a body and is full of valour, One who opposes Chandra and Surya without fear, One who was born from Simhika's womb, I prostrate that Rahu. 9.
