-For four years I had the privilege of working for Jeff De Luca. From 1995 to 1997 I was a development team lead on a large C++ project where Jeff was the development manager. Then from 1997 to 1999 I was the development manager on a large Java project in Singapore where Jeff was the project manager and chief architect. On this second project I watched Jeff's drive and ability transform the project from disaster to success.
-Jeff combines formidable leadership skills with outstanding technical knowledge, experience and insight. Jeff impressed me from the very first few meetings I had with him. Unlike many other 'impressive' talkers in the industry, I was still as impressed by Jeff four years later. Time and time again I watched Jeff take ownership of a difficult problem and innovate and strategise to produce a solution.
-
-Jeff is passionate about quality and offended by mediocrity. He aggressively champions best industry practises such as formal design and code inspections. Yet he, as aggressively, condemns unnecessary process bureaucracy. Building on his early training and experience at IBM's top laboratories in the USA, extensive reading and collaboration with one of the industry's leading OO analyst/designers, Jeff implemented an innovative, efficient, low overhead, iterative development process for the singapore project. This process has been a considerable factor in the success of a project where a complex and poorly understood problem domain caused requirements to change too frequently.
-
-Jeff firmly believes that good people using good processes produce great results. He invested considerable time and effort into recruiting and training a team of highly talented developers for the project. Jeff also challenges the status quo and convention when he believes it to be of benefit to the project. To put it in a nutshell, Jeff inspires and motivates others to achieve
-better and better results.
-
-If you happen to be looking for a technical architect, project director or development manager to produce a high quality result, I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Jeff to
-you.
-
-Jeff is based in Melbourne, Australia, runs Nebulon Pty Ltd, married to Michelle and has two children Matthew and Catherine.
